Updated: Jun 19, 2021

You may be shocked to find this book on a wellness platform. Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds is the autobiographical story of former Navy SEAL David Goggins. The book details his amazing life story and transformation from a nightmarish childhood to an U.S. Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes through self-discipline, mental toughness and hard work. This book is for anyone that needs a kick in the butt to get moving toward your goals. It's about tapping into the potential and grit that you already have to create the life you want and looking into the dark corners you might hid from in order push passed your self-imposed limits to find transformation.

There's some sailor language in this book, but I've worked in construction for years so I've heard it all. For those that aren't interested in some of the more colorful language, there is now a clean edition of this book. I actually listened to the audiobook because there's some extra content and discussion between Goggins and the narrator Adam Skolnick.

“Whatever your goal, you’ll need to hold yourself accountable for the small steps it will take to get there. Self-improvement takes dedication and self-discipline. The dirty mirror you see every day is going to reveal the truth. Stop ignoring it. Use it to your advantage.”
