Dear Nia, Do I need to dry brush? Is it best before or after the shower? – Stephanie C.

Dear Stephanie, in my opinion and experience dry brushing is an awesome form of exfoliation and massage that stimulates and rejuvenates the skin. I dry brush just before getting in the shower on dry skin. I'll sometimes exfoliate in the shower, but always follow up with an oil after. On dry skin, start at your feet and brush upward towards the heart, in a circle at your abdomen. You'll know how much pressure to apply by how you feel - it should not be painful. Harsh exfoliation is not the point with dry brushing, it's about energizing the skin. Depending on your skin, I recommend dry brushing about 2-3 times a week. Don't forget to wash your brush to get rid of the buildup of dead skin.
