5 Tips to Lower Stress

Updated: Jun 19, 2021

We all have different ways of coping with the pains of anxiety and uncertainty. Often the best stress and worry reducing strategies are extensions of everyday practices we already enjoy. The difference is the intention, doing these things to get back to center and feel more grounded.

01 - Breath Work & Meditation

Intentional breathing is one of the most immediate stress relievers you can perform anywhere. Doubling down with meditation and aromatherapy allows us to take refuge in the power of our own breath. Try this complimentary meditation from Black Girl In Om. It'll be 10 minutes well spent.

02 - Movement

Movement is an incredibly effective way to elevate mood and reduce stress by enhancing feel good chemicals like serotonin. Whether at home or in the office, this 10 minute workout can be done at your desk or get in a few sets of squats between Zoom meetings. No matter how much or how little time you have ...move!

03 - Walk in Nature

Research shows that contact with nature is a major mood and immunity booster. If you're fortunate enough to have access to a wooded area, take a walk or step out on your backyard, porch or patio for views of greenery.

04 - Self Massage

Never underestimate the power of touch, even if it's your own. While evening primrose, chamomile, and vetiver oils are calming whatever you have around that will give you slip works. Shea butter, jojoba oil, avocado oil and even olive oil work. Start with the pressure points of the feet, moving up through the hands and wrists, and ending at the temples and behind the ears.

05 - Take a Break with a Hot Drink

Make a cup of your favorite beverage and change scenery by cozying up on the couch with a book or your favorite comedy, nothing heavy. We love Yogi Cinnamon Spice Probiotic Balance Tea because it is naturally sweet and promotes healthy digestion.
